Facebook campus expansion includes affordable housing

With Bay Area housing costs continuing to rise, Facebook announced plans to include affordable housing units on its new campus, even for residents not affiliated with the company. The company plans to construct 1,500 units on a plot of land just south of the company’s headquarters. About 225 of the units (15 percent) will be affordable units for low- to middle-income residents.
